Michael G. Connolly
Michael (Mick) Connolly is Owner and Managing Director of Troppo Sound, the sound, staging, lighting and production company that also incorporates the Troppo Sound Recording Studio and Music Shop.
Mick studied electronic engineering and TV and radio servicing in Perth from mid 70's to early 80’s. After completing studies in Perth he became involved in the music industry in Broome in the eighties.
From its small beginnings Troppo Sound has grown into a major provider of sound, staging and lighting equipment for The Kimberley region.
Mick is also Owner and Managing Diretor of the Broome Convention Centre Chinatown (BCCC) a fully air-conditioned, multi-purpose venue with the versatility to accommodate music and theatre productions, art exhibitions, conferences, car launches and literally any event that requires easy access and state of the art sound, staging and lighting equipment.
Mick’s expertise and local knowledge are invaluable assets that have been put to good use for important events as Stompen Ground 1992-2000 and OPERA UNDER THE STARS® 1993-2012, as well as performers including David Helfgott, Eskimo Joe, John Butler, Mary-Attracta Connolly, Missy Higgins, Midnight Oil, The Pigram Brothers and The Waifs, to mention a few.
